When I look at his head, I think of meat ball. A big juicy one that I can lick for hours. No matter how tasty he is, I will never bite him. My world brightens up when he walks in the room. The familiar sound of footstep, his scent, his voice and everything about him excites me. He is beautiful with his hands, with fine and delicate fingers. I am in ecstasy when he strokes my hair. My world is a simple world and it disappears whenever I hear him calling my name. Kyle is my dad, my two legged best friend.
If I can talk, which I am sure will in the future, Kyle will have less headache. While my tongue is long and loose, unable to speak, I excel in listening and observing. It is in my DNA. Humans talk all the time but spend less than half the time listening. Often I know more than my human companion. I know cats are stupid, tennis balls are never enough and which friend is real. Fai is real. The light in his eyes, the way he talks, even the pace his heart beats, he completes dad. Dad just doesn’t know, yet.
Dad had been out a lot lately with Fai. They probably went to dog park playing without me. While I forgave him, I wish they would have taken me with them. Isn’t more the merrier? My dad has many flaws. For example, he forgot today was their anniversary. Fai is like me. We are forgiving in nature. I knew Fai had prepared some fancy feasts and expensive toy. Dad would be surprised and felt guilty because he had forgotten the special date. Fai, however, would forgive him and then they would come home and wrestling in bed. They never let me join their game. Another daddy’s flaw I have to overlook.
I heard the keys. They were close. My heart pacing, mouth drooling a bit (something that I hate), and my tail wagging, I encircled the door and was ready to pound on them.
“Suki, we’re back.” Dad announced.
I know. You two sure took your time.
“You’ve been a good boy? My Suki bear.” Fai talked to me like I was his kid. I love it.
Playing me with. Don’t wrestle without me please.
“You want to stay for a bit?” Daddy said and he licked Fai’s mouth.
Let me lick you too. I jumped and barked.
“Sure.” Fai grinned and he started to undress daddy. They were going to lick each other more and rolled around in bed. While human are very capable of doing many things, we, canines, are superior when it comes to tongues. We can lick our own balls and dicks. Human, on the other hand, need help from others to lick their genitals. Daddy and Fai often helped each other to clean their private parts. Bet they wish they had a tongue like mine.
“Suki is looking at us. You think he wants to join us?” Fai looked at me and laughed.
I perked up my ears hearing my name.
Yes, I want to.
“Don’t give him idea. You naughty boy.” Daddy said and bite Fai softly. I used to bite my brothers and sisters too before daddy took me home when I was still a pup.
Fai made some funny noises. I couldn’t tell if daddy was hurting him or Fai was just having too much fun. They started breathing very quickly like they were about to giving birth, except I knew they were mating. I watch Animal Planet. Television is my favorite toy. I learn many human behaviors from watching TV shows: Eskimos use many of my brethrens to pull slates, Asians like panda bears so much that they dye their canines black and white, and many rich girls is US put our smaller brothers and sisters in their expensive bags.
“You think your family will like me?” Fai asked.
Daddy held Fai close.
"They sure will." Daddy said while beckoning me to bed. I slept with my daddy every night. Now that Fai is joining our pack, our bed is getting smaller. I hope daddy will get a bigger one. It is nice to sleep between daddy and Fai. They are so warm. I wish they are fluffy like me but I know not everyone is as lucky as we canines.
Everyday humans go to work, leaving their canine companions home. It is a frigtening experience. Without my daddy, I am alone and we canine don't well being alone. Cats, on the other hand, are too stupid to realize they are alone. They sleep all day while we canine watch the door. Luckily daddy will leave the TV on for me. According to Animal Planet, I am one of the TV dogs. I take pride of being one. Unlike other regular dogs, we TV dogs know more about our human companions. I know when a thunderstorm is coming, dog food is on sale and where my daddy is going to out with Fai. Tonight, I knew we were going to my grandfather's house. I love my daddy's parents. They are "dog people." My daddy has a brother and they alike. I wonder if my brother and I look alike too.
